Brian Ivie, President and Chief Executive Officer
Brian Ivie joined Skagit Regional Health as President, Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent in November 2017. Ivie’s experience includes service as President and Chief Executive Officer of three facilities operated by Dignity Health including Mercy San Juan Medical Center, a 370-bed acute care facility in Carmichael, California; Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, a 162-bed acute care facility in Sacramento; and Bruceville Terrace, a 171-bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility in Sacramento. Ivie has additional experience in health care operations and finance at a variety of large health care systems. Ivie is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and earned an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Danny Vera, PharmD, MBA, Regional Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Danny Vera, PharmD, MBA joined Skagit Regional Health as Regional Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2018. Vera is an accomplished healthcare executive, previously serving as Vice President of Operations with Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California, a 370-bed, Level II trauma facility with 2,500 employees. Vera holds an MBA from the California State University, Fresno Craig School of Business and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Pharmacy.
Paul Ishizuka, MBA, CPA, Regional Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Paul Ishizuka, MBA, CPA joined Skagit Regional Health in October 2017 as Regional Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Ishizuka brings 25 years of senior financial leadership in health care and corporate settings. Ishizuka’s experience includes serving as CFO for Samaritan Healthcare, a public district hospital and clinics in Moses Lake. Prior to Samaritan, he served in a variety of roles for the University of Washington including Medical Center Financial Officer for UW Medicine and Chief Financial Officer for University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
Jola Barnett, MBA, Regional Vice President Operations
Jola Barnett, MBA, joined Skagit Regional Health in 2016, through the affiliation with Cascade Valley Hospital and serves as Regional Vice President Operations. Barnett previously served as an Assistant Administrator of Cascade Valley Hospital. Barnett has held numerous leadership positions within the organization since 1995, including Corporate Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer from 2008 to 2016, and oversight of all revenue cycle, materials management and ancillary support services. She served as President of the Regional Health Services Interlocal Group of Public District Hospitals in western Washington from 2002 to 2013, negotiating payer contracts for 18 hospitals. Barnett is also an Adjunct Faculty Lecturer for the WSU Carson School of Business, Global Campus online MBA degree program. She is an active member and Past-President for the Rotary Club of Arlington. Barnett is originally from Sedro-Woolley and holds an MBA from Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.
Lisa Buller, PhD, Regional Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Lisa Buller joined Skagit Regional Health in 2016 and was named Regional Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in October 2017. She previously served as interim CIO, Senior Director of the Electronic Health Record and Information Systems Project Management Office, and the Epic Project Director for Skagit Regional Health. She has held senior consultant and management positions in health care organizations across the country including Boston Medical Center, Providence Health and Services and University of Washington Medicine. She holds a PhD in physical chemistry from Cornell University.
Connie Davis, MD, Regional Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Connie Davis, MD, joined Skagit Regional Health as the Chief Medical Officer in 2012. Dr. Davis previously served as Director of the Kidney Care Line and Co-Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant program at the University of Washington, where she is on faculty at the School of Medicine. Dr. Davis received her medical degree and Masters of Health Administration at the University of Washington and went on to residencies and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Schools Hospitals and Clinics, and a research fellowship at Ludwig Maximillan University in Munich. She is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and currently serves on the Skagit County Board of Health.

Joshua Griggs, MD, MHA, Regional Vice President and Chief Quality Officer
Joshua Griggs, MD, MHA was named Chief Quality Officer at Skagit Regional Health in September, 2018. The Chief Quality Officer oversees all aspects of the patient safety program including serving as the organization’s champion of Just Culture and directly supervising the Skagit Regional Health Quality, Population Health and Risk programs. Since 2016, Dr. Griggs served the organization as Chief Medical Information Officer. Dr. Griggs is board certified in family medicine and joined the medical staff in 2011. He is a graduate of Loma Linda Medical School in Loma Linda, California and completed his family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Ana, California. In 2018, he completed a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Washington.

Mary Ann Hink, MD, Regional Vice President and Chief Physician Officer
Mary Ann Hink, MD, an experienced internal medicine physician, became Skagit Regional Health’s Regional Vice President and Chief Physician Officer in October 2016, responsible for clinical care pathways, ambulatory care, provider recruitment and service line development. Dr. Hink previously served the organization as Medical Director of Clinical Services and Associate Medical Director of Primary Care. Dr. Hink joined Skagit Regional Clinics as an internal medicine physician in 2000. Dr. Hink, who is board certified in internal medicine, received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
Justin Oram, MHA, Regional Vice President Clinic Operations
Justin Oram joined Skagit Regional Health as Regional Vice President Clinic Operations in July 2019. Oram is an accomplished healthcare leader, holding a number of medical group leadership positions. Most recently serving as Pediatric Service Line Operations Officer for Intermountain Healthcare, a Utah-based, not-for-profit health system of 24 hospitals, 160 clinics and employing 2,500 physicians and advanced practice providers. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Weber State University, Annie Taylor Dee School of Nursing and a Masters in Health Administration from Weber State University, Dumke College of Health Professions.
Kari Ranten, MHA, Regional Director of Marketing and Communications
Kari Ranten serves as Regional Director of Marketing and Communications for Skagit Regional Health. Ranten joined Skagit Valley Hospital in July 2000 as Marketing and Communications Specialist, became a Director in 2006 and moved up to Regional Director in 2016. Ranten earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Washington State University and a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. She serves on the Boards of United Way of Skagit County and Community Action of Skagit County.

Michelle Sand, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Michelle Sand, MSN, RN, NEA-BC is Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington, Washington. Prior to coming to Washington she was the VP of Patient Care Services/CNO at Iron County Community Hospital in Iron River, Michigan. Before that she was the Director of Medical-Surgical Services at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, Michigan, which is part of The Trinity Health System Organization. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois where she received her Bachelor of Science and Master's of Science in Nursing from Loyola University of Chicago. She also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. She is currently a Board Member of the Stillaguamish Senior Center in Arlington, and a member of the NWone (Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives) Board.
Adele Skinner, BA, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, Regional Vice President of Human Resources
Adele Skinner serves as the Regional Vice President of Human Resources for Skagit Regional Health. Skinner joined Skagit Regional Health in 2013 with an emphasis on Talent Acquisition and was promoted to Regional Director of Human Resources in 2016. Skinner has been a dedicated professional in the field of healthcare for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Skagit Regional Health, Skinner served the PeaceHealth system in a variety of Human Resource functions throughout the healthcare system. Skinner is a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources through the Society of Human Resource Management and a member of the American Society for Health Care Human Resources Administration. Skinner is a graduate of Leadership Skagit Class of 2017, has earned an Associate’s from Jefferson College, a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Trinity Western University, and is in the final stages of completing a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Western Governor’s University. Skinner also served as a board member of WSAHCR while possessing the credentials of CMSR and CHCR.

Mary Jane 'MJ' Tyler, BSN, MN, RN, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Mary Jane “MJ” Tyler, was named Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Skagit Valley Hospital in February 2017 after serving as Director of Nursing Support Services since 2015. Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Whitworth College in Spokane, a Master's of Science in Nursing from Eastern Washington University in Cheney and an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of Washington. She has worked in a variety of patient care, clinical and leadership roles over the last four decades and has been with Skagit Valley Hospital since 2008. Tyler remains involved with nursing education departments at Skagit Valley College and Western Washington University.
